K-Type Thermocouple Wire-Red and Blue

Any temperature sensor with Chromed and Alumel conductors that satisfies the output specifications outlined in ANSI/ASTM E230 or IEC 60584 for Type K thermocouples is referred to as a Type K thermocouple. This could be a wire, a surface sensor, an immersion sensor, or another kind of sensor or cable.K type thermocouples are built of a nickel/chromium alloy (chrome) and a nickel/aluminum alloy (alumini), giving them far better protection against oxidation and acidity than the iron limbs of the Type J thermocouple, which are formed of iron and constantan.

Chromel (90% nickel, 10% chromium) and Alumel (95 % nickel, 2% manganese, 2% aluminium, and 1% silicon) are the two metal alloys that make up Type K. The thermocouple has a nickel base, which means that it has strong corrosion resistance and may be utilised in a variety of settings and applications.
