Photosensitive 5mm LDR Sensor

Photoresistor also is known as LDR(Light Dependent Resistor) as the names imply, changes the resistance with the variation in the amount of light. This particular photoresistor has a resistance of 5-10k Ohm in light and about 500k Ohm resistance in the dark.

As the light on the sensor increases then the resistance across the two leads decreases. Two Cadmium Sulphide (CDs) PhotoConductive Cells with spectral responses similar to that of the human eye. Cell resistance falls with increasing light intensity.
